Lets face it, when you see someone with brown spots on their face and/or hands, your first thought is compassion for that person, because you know they are aging. More so than seeing someone with wrinkles in most cases. But it is a fact that people over 50 will develop some skin discoloration somewhere on their body, usually on the face and hands.
There are several names for these spots. Such as, liver spots, dark spots, age spots, sunspots and freckles. They will usually be flat, round in shape and brown in color. These spots are harmless, but if you have concerns, please see a Dermatologist. The cause of these spots is excessive sun exposure and the production of melanin in the body.
Melanin is the pigment that is the cause of your brown spots. But that does not mean that melanin is bad, in fact it is a good thing when your body products melanin. Because, it is responsible for the color of your hair and iris in your eyes.
Fortunately, there are several cures for these spots.
1st Cure - Exfoliation can help you shed the dead skin cells eventually removing age spots. Do not use anything to harsh, a light exfoliation cream would be ideal. Or make your own mixture of sugar and moisten with olive oil. Rub on the spots to exfoliate and encourage new cell growth. After a couple of months you should see the difference in your skin tone.
2nd Cure - A well know bleaching agent would be lemon juice. Go to your refrigerator and take out a lemon, cut it into wedges, and hold it on the brown spot(s) for approximately 10 minutes several times a day. In time you will see the spots fade.
3rd Cure - Vitamin E oil is an antioxidant and is used to fade scars. For best results use a natural form of the oil.
4th Cure - A popular plant called Aloe Vera has healing properties and is used to heal skin sores. Use the juice or the gel several times a day on the age spots to help them fade.
5th Cure - Slow down the Melanin production in your facial cells. Like I said earlier melanin is good in the body as a whole. But you need to inhibit it in the facial cells. You need a whitening cream that contains ingredients that can prevent excess production of melanin. There is a powerful natural ingredient called Extrapone Nutgrass. This ingredient has been tested and has been shown to reduce melanin production as much as 40% thus removing age spots.
Do yourself a favor, especially if you are not about to try these home remedies because you do not have time to apply them several times during the day.
