How to Remove Age Spots with Onions

Age spots are caused by the accumulation of skin damage over time. As you get older, your skin spends more and more time being assaulted by UV rays. You might think that your only options for removing age spots are harsh chemicals and expensive skin treatments, but in reality there is a natural home remedy right at home in your kitchen that is significantly easier on your skin and your wallet.

Step1

Chop up the onion in the food processor. It should be minced very fine.

  1. Step2

Strain the onion through the cheesecloth. Catch the juice in the bowl.

  2. Step3

Combine one part apple cider vinegar and one part onion juice. This means if you use 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar you should also use 2 tablespoons of onion juice.

  3. Step4

Swab the mixture on the age spots. Use the cotton ball to apply it, and leave the mixture on for at least 30 minutes.

  4. Step5

Repeat the application twice a day every day. You should start to see lightening within the first few weeks, and you can continue until the age spots are gone completely.

Tips & Warnings
  • Test the mixture on your skin before you apply it everywhere. Swab it onto the inside of your elbow, then monitor the area for 2 hours for inflammation and irritation. If there is none, then you can go ahead and use it on your age spots.
  • Keep this mixture away from eye and genital areas.
