How to Choose the Best and Safest Anti Aging Skin Care

The number of anti aging skin care products just keeps growing and growing. There is an antiaging skin cream for natural whitening, a restorative night time lotion, eye contour gel, hydrating and cleansing masks and even whole body creams. Do you really need them all?Depending on your natural tone, you may not need whitening. It is a part of a complete anti aging skin care program because some fair skinned people develop dark spots, commonly referred to as “age spots”, and uneven tones. The best choice for an antiaging skin cream of this type is one that does not use harsh chemicals or abrasives. A natural herbal extract developed in Europe will inhibit melanin production and reduce irritation that can occur as the skin becomes thinner. Thus, lightening and evening your natural color. It is safe to say that everyone needs a restorative antiaging skin cream for bedtime. While you sleep, your body is going about repairing all of your cells that were damaged during the day. That includes skin-cells. You should look for one that does not contain artificial fragrances or colors. No alcohol or chemicals should be present. You do want something that nourishes and supports the production of collagen, elastin and skin-cell production. For the best anti aging skin care program, an eye contour gel is highly recommended. Crows feet, tiny lines and bags are a dead give away when it comes to guessing a person’s age. Many gels are irritating because they contain alcohol that cause the eyes to water and itch. The eyes are also very sensitive to chemicals commonly used as preservatives in cosmetics. The best antiaging skin cream for the area around the eyes is one that contains the latest European ingredients.Masks can accomplish more than daily cleansing and moisturizing. Speaking of cleansing, do not scrub and do not use exfoliation solutions. As you age, your skin becomes more sensitive to scrubbing and exfoliating can actually remove a layer of healthy skin. An anti aging skin care hydrating mask will help your daily moisturizers work better and more efficiently. Every part of your body needs water. In most any moisturizer or antiaging skin cream the primary ingredient is purified water, which is fine, but research has revealed new substances that allow you to “retain” that water, so your skin stays moister, longer. The result is softer and healthier looking.A deep cleansing mask will remove dead skin-cells while preventing black heads, pimples and even acne. Yes, it is not uncommon to develop acne in later years, particularly, if your health and beauty regimen leaves something to be desired. Dietary factors can also contribute, as can irregular hormonal levels that accompany menopause. You should, once again, choose a product that contains no chemicals or harsh ingredients. The best choice for an antiaging skin cream mask is New Zealand mineral clay. It revitalizes and soothes. The result is softer and smoother. There is nothing like it in other anti aging skin care products. Take the time to find the best and you’ll be satisfied with the results.Larry L. Dark Skin Acne Treatment

by Mary B Murphy

Acne does not discriminate itself against anyone. Whether you are white, black, Asian or Mexican, there is a chance you could get acne.

While a dark pigmentation may shield redness and other more obvious skin defects that are very noticeable on pale skin people, the underlying problem and skin damage is still there.

Skin color is irrelevant when it comes to treating acne. Whats most important is that you get the best type of treatment for your type of acne.

Sun burn is obviously a much more common problem on white skin that on darker skin. Darker skin people do need to protect themselves from the sun but they also have a stronger natural resistance to the sun.

It is important to always use sun block no matter what color skin you have. Also, certain medications will cause your skin to be more sensitive in the sun and so you should always use at least spf 15, minimally.

Pomade acne is the one type of acne that only effects those of African heritage. Usually the root of pomade acne is caused by oil based hair straightening products. Care should be take when using these products to use keep them away from facial skin.

Dark skin people also get post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which occurs when the skin gets darker after a breakout of acne. This is usually temporary and your skin will go back to its normal color over time.

Whether you are pale or dark skinned, your first port of call for treating acne should be to your dermatologist. He/she will guide you in the correct direction with regards diet and medication.

Acne and Dark Skin

by Mary B Murphy

Some people say to me that while on Sun holidays in the likes of Spain or Greece they notice that the people there seem to have perfect skin and don’t seem to suffer from any skin ailments such as acne. This may seem so but, skin color has nothing to do with acne.

While a dark pigmentation may shield redness and other more obvious skin defects that are very noticeable on pale skin people, the underlying problem and skin damage is still there.

When acne is treated, it doesn’t matter what your skin color is. All that matters is that you get the best treatment based on the type of acne you have.

There is one type of acne that will affect only those of African heritage, which is known as pomade acne. It is caused by the heavy oil on hair products that are used to straighten their hair. If you can’t avoid using these oily products, keep them away from your face as much as possible.

Dark skin people also may suffer from a temporary skin condition called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This is the darkening of the skin caused by a break out of acne. Time will heal this and skin will revert back to its normal color.

Whether you are pale or dark skinned, your first port of call for treating acne should be to your dermatologist. He/she will guide you in the correct direction with regards diet and medication.

Can I Improve My Skin Without Downtime?

Twenty-four-seven – that’s the pace we all run at… There is just never a break. So, if you can’t handle any down-time, what can you do to improve your skin? We all desire healthy and radiant skin. Environmental factors, genetics and stress take a toll on your skin. Over time, the aging process and the effects of the sun, wind and pollutants in the air can wreak havoc on your skin. Unfortunately, our highly competitive society places a premium on a youthful look.

Depending on what your concerns are, there may be a no down-time solution available. If you have always felt self conscious about those brown spots (maybe even a birthmark), the fine lines or wrinkles that are starting to show, Intense Pulsed Light Technology (IPL) may be the answer for you. Often referred to as “The Gold Standard” for photorejuvenation, IPL is a breakthrough, age defying procedure that treats skin damage safely, effectively and non-invasively and consists of a series of gentle pulsed light treatments intended to improve the appearance of sun damaged and aged skin, as well as reduce redness and flushing; resulting in a more youthful appearing skin. Photorejuvenation uses no chemicals, has no recovery time, and does not disrupt the skin surface.

IPL and the next generation called Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT™*) has received international recognition and media attention from programs such as “Good Morning America,” and magazines such as Vogue, Allure, Good Housekeeping and Harper.

Sōnas skilled use of FDA-approved AFT can hone in on color-producing melanin cells within pigments, in effect bleaching the cells. (Darkening may occur for a few days before the age spots begin to lighten.) Rejuvenation is the process of restoring to a new or more youthful appearance, and that’s exactly what our treatments aim to do for your skin. By using specialized handsets and precisely controlling the amount and intensity of light, we are able to effectively treat problem areas with pulsed light - without damaging healthy surrounding skin. And we can do all of this in a 30-minute procedure in which intense pulses of light are used to penetrate deep into the skin, causing collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing redness and age lines. The procedure involves only minimal discomfort, while the redness and swelling that sometimes occur after treatment disappear shortly afterwards. The benefits of a photorejuvenation occur gradually in the weeks following treatment.

Laser–assisted hair removal, studied and evaluated

Trehan, October 20: A comparative study by Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences in Trehan indicated that unwanted hair removal

by lasers is more effective and safe when used separately, rather than in a combination.

Fifteen participants underwent four treatment sessions at eight weeks interval. Using legs as test patches, the different methods used on the subjects were, long pulsed 755-nanometer alexandrite lasers(12 and 18 millimeter spot size), long pulsed 1,064-nanometer Nd: YAG laser(12-millimeter spot size), and a combination of alexandrite and Nd: YAG 12 mm spot size lasers.

As part of the experiment, the average hair density of the subjects was measured with a hair counting device and a special software. The results were assessed by comparing digital photographs taken before and after the treatment.

After 18 months the clinical study evaluated a hair reduction of 75.9% for the 12 mm spot size alexandrite laser, 84.3% for 18mm spot size alexandrite laser, 73.6% for Nd:YAG laser, and 77.8% for the combination of the two treatments.

It was further perceived that the stinging sensation experienced was the maximum in the combination treatment, followed closely by the alexandrite laser treatment. The minimal discomfort was felt by the Nd: YAG laser. The areas receiving combination treatment also had more chances of being inflicted by hyper pigmentation (dark spots on skin).

There is not one laser, however, that is ideal for treating all patients, thus the need for multiple laser and an experienced physician, who can assess the best method of treatment.

Evaluating the benefits and safety of both laser treatments, the authors of the study concluded “The use of alexandrite or Nd: YAG laser system alone for at least four treatment sessions and with eight week intervals have long term persistent efficacy in hair reduction with acceptable and transient adverse effects.”
