Dark Circles Under Eyes Treatment

  3. Increase your intake of Vitamin C and iron. Vitamin C and iron usually reduce dark circles in some sufferers, and you can buy these items or increase your intake of foods rich in these Vitamins such as skinless chicken and pepper to obtain the necessary nutrition.
  4. Buy cucumber and cut into slices. Take the slices and place them over the eyes. They will reduce swelling around the eyes as well as lighten the skin under the eyes. Do this for at least two minutes daily, and you should see improvement in two weeks or more. Substitute potatoes if you do not have cucumber, it has the same effect as the cucumber. Cut the potatoes into thin slice and leave on your eyes for a minimum of five minutes.
  5. Drink more water and add more fruits, vegetable and fiber to your diet. A hydrated body not only helps your kidney function well, but it helps reduces dark circles under your eye.
  6. Get sufficient rest if your dark circles are due to lack of sleep.
  7. Treat your dark circles with tea bags after you finish using. Take the tea bag and place over your eyes for roughly fifteen minutes twice daily for about two to three weeks and you should see some improvement.
  8. Buy mint and lime at your favorite supermarket. Take your food processor and grind the mint leaves then add one or two drops of lime juice to form a paste. Apply the mixture to your eyes for about fifteen minutes for a couple of weeks, and your dark circles would be less apparent.
  9. Contact a plastic surgeon or dermatologist for filers. Injection fillers are widely used to increase the fat under the eyes. These injections are successful because they cover up the melanin under the eyes. Treatment lasts approximately six months and can cost anywhere from $500 to $800. The drawback to these types of treatment it causes side effects including swelling as well as bruising and allergic reactions.

5. Jaundice. Jaundice, or yellowing of the skin, is mainly due to increased bilirubin in the body. Bilirubin is a byproduct of dying red blood cells. Once the bilirubin levels increase beyond its normal limits within the body, it creates a yellow tint on the capillaries that run along the skin’s surface.

6. Carotenodermia. Carotenodermia is a condition characterized by the orange complexion of the skin. This is due to consuming huge amounts of carotenoids-containing foods, like carrots, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and pumpkins. Also, this condition can also be a sign that the kidneys and the liver are not functioning properly.

7. Cyanosis. Cyanosis, or bluish discoloration of the skin, is due to lack of oxygen supply in the blood. It may be also due to abnormal hemoglobin production or a presence of toxins in the bloodstream.

    Causes of skin discoloration

    Skin discoloration is due to various reasons. Actually, each of the several types of skin discoloration is due to various abnormalities in the body’s metabolism. Listed below are some of the common causes of skin discoloration.

    1. Medications. Skin discolorations may be due to some side effects of the medications being taken. For instance, antibiotics and anti-malarial drugs may cause hyper-pigmentation to some individuals. For instance, liver diseases can cause jaundice (yellowish color), albinism (whitish and bleached color) which results to white skin or patches, anemia which causes paleness, and cyanotic heart diseases which causes bluish discoloration of the skin.

    Skin discoloration can be treated based on its origin. A person who manifest any of the types of skin discoloration should consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis of the skin condition. In addition, proper skin care must be observed. It is always recommended to avoid too much exposure to sunlight during the midday from 10am until 4pm, at the height of the sunlight.

    How to Remove Age Spots With Vitamin C


    Age spots are darkened areas on the skin. They usually appear on the face, neck and hands. Age spots are caused by prolonged sun exposure and are accumulative. This means they can appear years after sun exposure, as your skin gets older and thinner. The best thing you can do to combat age spots is to protect your skin against the sun. if you already have spots, sunblock will prevent the spots from getting darker and new ones from appearing.

    Step 1

    Apply a vitamin C serum or lotion that contains at least 10-percent vitamin C as part of the composition. Otherwise, you might not see results. Apply as directed on the label, usually once or twice a day. Avoid products with no amount indicated on the label, as these are likely to be too weak to improve the age spots.

    Step 2

    Wait for the lotion or serum to dry, and then apply sunscreen if you're going outside. The combination of vitamin C and sunscreen will provide better protection against the damaging effects of the sun.

    Step 3
    Dab lemon juice, which is rich in vitamin C, directly on the spot, using a cotton ball. Wait for 15 minutes before rinsing off with cold water. Repeat twice a day until the spots lighten up.
